I am an actor, director and facilitator from Zimbabwe. I love working and devising with children, passing on knowledge and experience about theatre. I have a huge interest in African folklore and would love to create work inspired by it.
In the past I have worked with Ignite Theatre, Ankur Productions, The Youth National Theatre and most recent I was in a short film called Behind by Mythic Picnic.
In my spare time I work as Hairstylist, specialising in Afro/Caribbean and multi-textured hair for Screen and Photography. I am also one of the Co-founders of Untie My Tongue.
Who is Amy Young
Amy Young doesn’t need to dominate a room to matter in it.
Soft-spoken, thoughtful, and emotionally intuitive, Amy often stands slightly to the side of the chaos at Avalon Models — observing, processing, understanding. She values sincerity and connection, and she has a natural ability to sense when something isn’t quite right.
While others chase recognition or control, Amy focuses on relationships. She listens carefully. She asks the right questions. And she offers honesty when it’s needed most.
Amy becomes an important presence within the group — not through dramatic gestures, but through quiet consistency. She may not be at the centre of every conflict, but she is deeply affected by the shifting dynamics around her.
Amy isn’t driven by ambition. She’s driven by authenticity. And sometimes, the people who appear the most understated are the ones who see the clearest.
