Getting to know Gerard
1. Why did you want become an actor?
I never actually wanted to be an actor, I was more into behind the scenes stuff but I did a few drama courses and it all went from there.
2. Given the chance, which actor would you most like to work with?
He’s dead now, but I reckon it would have been fun working with Oliver Reid. There would never be a dull moment.
3. If you could play any character from a tv series or film who would it be, and why?
Homer Simpson. There has never been a live action Simpsons film (probably for good reason) but he’s an amazing character and it’d be fun playing with him.
4. What director, living or dead, would you most like to work with, and why?
Danny Boyle is my favourite director and I’m lucky to have worked with him twice (Trainspotting 2 and Trust). Apart from that I’d like to work with Ken Loach - his films are hard hitting and reflect everyday life.
5. What actor would play you in a movie?
Absolutely no idea. I’m one of a kind.
